What kind of Blog is this?

I decided to combine two activities, getting in shape on the elliptical machine (hence the title of the blog) and watching movies on my tablet device. What a perfect world! I am a really big fan of the movies and love all genres. You will see discussions on Sci-Fi, Horror, Historical, Romance, Comedy, Drama, Classics, and so on. Watching a movie instantly makes the hour spent working out simply fly by! I have decided to watch movies that I am interested in and then discuss how I enjoyed the movie. Hard to really call it a review seeing that most of the movies have already been released nationally. I will rate each on a scale of 1 to 10 (ten being the best). Most of the movies that I discuss will be movies that appear on Cable TV. So if you were hesitant about watching a particular movie, you can utilize my commentary before you sit down and watch.

Love's Kitchen

Here's a turn at a British romantic comedy, and the Brits have a good sense of humor, right? The movie stars Claire Forlani (whom outside of her stint in CSI: NY and "Meet Joe Black") and Dougray Scott (the bad guy in Mission Impossible II) as a restaurant critic and a chef. In true romantic comedy form, there has to be baggage and both the lead characters have it.  Chef Rob Haley (Scott) is the next up and comer in the restaurant field, truly cooking food with heart.  His wife scouts a new location for a potential restaurant in the countryside, but before the deal can be sealed she is killed in a car crash.  How devastating and quite a blow for the chef, his daughter and staff.  He finally gets some motivation from a very bad review he received and Gordon Ramsey ripping him a new one.

Kate Templeton (Forlani) has taken residence with her dad after a massive blow of a divorce from a husband whom she finds out is gay.  She is devastated, hurt and you could say a little bitter.  And she is the restaurant critic who wrote the bad review that gets Chef Rob Haley to purchase a new restaurant and start from scratch.  The new place has a slow beginning but a little help, he finds his restaurant is now a thriving business.  Reconnecting him to food and cooking with heart.

It is a very charming movie and I really enjoyed it.  If you are a fan of romantic comedies, than this is one for your viewing pleasure.

I give it a 7 out of 10.

Next up is the movie "Beastly."
